Velma E. Frey, 76, Milford, passed away at 1:34 a.m. Monday, July 17, at her residence. She had fought cancer for five years.
She was born Nov. 11, 1940, to Joseph and Ruby (Hochstetler) Stutzman.
On Feb. 14, 1965, she married John Henry Frey.
Velma was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and also loved birds.
She is survived by her husband, John Henry Frey; children, Owen Frey, Milford, Eugene Frey, New Paris, Rhonda (Delton) Weaver, Nappanee, and Brenda Frey, Milford; grandchildren, Jolene Fowler, Kevin Weaver, Derek (Lonita) Weaver, Jared Weaver and Nadine Weaver; five great-grandchildren; sister, Verda (Ward) Burkholder, Bremen; and brothers, Delbert (Frances) Stutzman, Wakarusa, Lamar (Rhonda) Stutzman, Nappanee, and Owen (Janet) Stutzman, North Carolina.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at the church. Bishop Randall Riegsecker and the home ministers will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church.
