Thomas Tiegler was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Goshen, Indiana, and passed away Sept. 28, in Chicago.
Tom graduated from GHS in the class of 1952. He earned a degree in business at Indiana University before moving to Chicago where he founded the TL Tiegler Corporation.
Known as "Tig" to his lifelong friends from Goshen, Tom was an avid sports fan who watched every Cubs, Hawks and Bears game for more than 50 years. He played football through high school and took his boys to all of the Bears games throughout the 1980s. Yes, it was cold, but 1986 made it all worth it.
Tom loved to golf and was a member of Exmoor Country Club for more than 50 years.
Tom had an infectious smile and would always greet you like it was your birthday. He seemed to make friends everywhere he went. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. In the hospital when nurses asked if he needed anything, he said, "I want to make sure my family is OK."
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca; his sons, Tom and Matt; his daughter-in-law, Karen; and his adoring grandchildren Jack, Tessa and Bridget.
There will be no public service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please honor Tom by knocking on your neighbor's door and making a friend.
