Sharon Kay Jennings, 75, Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home following an extended illness Sunday, July 30, at 10:15 p.m.
She was born in Elkhart July 3, 1942 to Howard and Esther (Moser) Holderman.
She married Robert L. Kistler in Elkhart, Jan. 30, 1960. He precedes her in death along with her parents and siblings, Howard John Holderman and Genevieve Clubb.
Surviving are her children Amy Lane, Elkhart, Scott Kistler, Michigan City and Timothy Kistler, Fishers; brothers, Herb and Kenny Fritz, both of Elkhart; grandchildren Danielle (Nick) Grimm, Blake, Grant and Rachel Kistler, Aaron Lane, Calvin Nugent and Shawna Nissley; and special friend and caregiver, Ron Johnson, Goshen.
In accordance with her wishes, Sharon's remains will be placed with her late husband, Robert, at the Veteran's Towers at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart during a private service there.
The Augustana Lutheran Church, 1133 Kilbourne, Elkhart, is honored to host Sharon's memorial service Saturday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Steve Reshan will officiate.
Sharon worked as an optician for Dr. Rae's office in Goshen for many years. She also belonged to the Elkhart Women of the Moose chapter and enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren at their sporting and band events. She also liked to visit with her longtime friends and church family. She was also an avid animal lover, so memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
