Roy J. Kee, Jr., 91, entered into eternal life with the Lord Sept. 21, 2017 after suffering complications from a fall. He was a longtime resident of Goshen.
Roy served in the Army in World War II, Company C, 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division. He fought in the Pacific and participated in the liberation of the Philippines and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart medals. After the war, he attended the University of Michigan and later went to work with the Chris Craft boat company becoming plant manager in Holland, Michigan, as well as in Hayward, California; Cortland, New York; Edenton, North Carolina; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Taipei, Taiwan; and Goshen. He became vice president of Chris Craft's Sport Boat Division. Roy also worked for several years as plant manager at Starcraft and Viking Boats in Goshen before retiring to Florida in 2005, to be with family.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy DuBreuil Kee; and parents, Roy J. and Ella Crawford Kee of Fennville. He leaves behind a son, CDR Scott Kee, USN (retired), and his wife, Constance Kee, Virginia; and two daughters, April (Michael) Nichol, California, and Kelly Jones and husband Major Kenneth Jones USAF (retired) of Florida; and grandchildren, Kevin Kee, Virginia, and Erin Nichol, California.
A private memorial service is planned for a future date.
