Nona E. Kulp, 67, Wakarusa, died peacefully at 8:48 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at her residence after a six-year battle with cancer.
She was born January 24, 1950 in Broadway, Virginia to George and Clara (Crider) Sonifrank. On April 7, 1973, she married Roger Kulp.
Nona is survived by her husband, Roger, Wakarusa; three children, Lora (Stephen) Miller, Goshen; Jerry Kulp, Foraker; Susan Kulp, Wakarusa; two grandchildren, Peyton and Elliana Kulp, Foraker; three sisters, Arlene (Robert) Miller, Fulks Run, Virginia; Lillie (Floyd) Lahman, Harrisonburg, Virginia; Janet (Jeffrey) Thompson, Harrisonburg, Virginia; and two brothers, Linden Sonifrank, Dayton, Virginia and David (Janet) Sonifrank, Singers Glen, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifton and Nolan Sonifrank; four sisters, Beulah Estep, Oma Sonifrank, Loretta Horst, and Carolyn Sonifrank.
Nona worked at Parkview Press in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She worked at Family Fare in Nappanee and as a cook for Wa-Nee Community Schools where she retired after 15 years. She was a member of Mt. Joy Conservative Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 2 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 South Main Street, Goshen, and from 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. Following the burial, there will be an 11 a.m. memorial service at Mt. Joy Conservative Mennonite Church, 120 N. 23rd St., Goshen. Pastor Ben Shirk, Pastor Millard Sonifrank, and Pastor Stephen Estep will officiate.
