Naomi's Story

Naomi Grissom, 101, died Tuesday, June 6, at Courtyard Healthcare, where she had resided the past year.
She was born May 3, 1916, in Clinton Township, Elkhart County, to William G. and Mabel B. (Rohrer) Vance.
On Dec. 10, 1935, she married Oscar Merl Grissom in Albion. He died Aug. 26, 1958.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elizabeth Elder, Catherine Wysong, Charles R. Vance, Henry Vance, and Kenneth Vance.
She is survived by her sister, Lina Belle Hoogenboom.
Mrs. Grissom retired from Penn Controls in 1978. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Goshen, and former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Millersburg. Naomi was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Friends may call Friday, June 9, one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. The Rev. John Hickey will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
