Mary J. Hoffman, 77, Greenwood, Indiana, formerly of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka.
She was born May 29, 1940, in Kentucky, to Fred and Ethel Yates. She married the love of her life, Ray Hoffman, on June 7, 1958 in South Bend. Along with her husband, Ray, she previously owned and operated Pee Wee's store in South Bend for five years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Penny DiPomazio (Greg), Lubbock, Texas, Stephen Hoffman (Cathy), Mishawaka, Diane Klaum, Lawrence, and Connie Pitman (Daynen), New Whiteland; six grandchildren, Rachel Long (Keith), Franklin, Justin Pitman (Brittany), Bluffton, Allen Klaum, Lawrence, Kalie Pitman, New Whiteland, Amber Klaum, Indianapolis, and Amanda Klaum, Lawrence; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings and grandchild Christina Swihart.
Visitation was held Wednesday, July 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend.
Burial will be Friday, July 7, at 10 a.m. in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
