Margie V. Putman, 95, passed away Wednesday, March 29, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
She was born March 2, 1922, in Goshen, to Artie and Lena (Weybright) Berkey.
On Oct. 11, 1942, she married Howard Putman at Rock Run Church of the Brethren, Goshen. He died April 13, 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina (Greg) Stump, Goshen, and Dana Putman, Vevay; a son, Roger (Nalini) Putman, Milton, Florida; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Opal Cripe and Jerusha Berkey.
Mrs. Putman was a member of Zion Community Church where she led the children's choir for many years. She had a beautiful soprano voice and enjoyed singing whenever she could.
She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed leading Brownie and Girl Scout troops and volunteering at the Indiana Cutting Room in Millersburg and Goshen Hospital.
Margie and Howard enjoyed their time in Mesa, Arizona, where they wintered for several years.
Friends may call Sunday, April 2, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, April 3. Pastor Chris Howell of Zion Community Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
