Mardell M. Wiggins, 86, of Wakarusa, died at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, May 28 at her residence. She was born March 24, 1931 in Wakarusa to Arthur and Myrtle (Schroeder) Thews. She lived her lifetime in Wakarusa. She was a graduate of Wakarusa High School. On May 27, 1950, she married Earl Wiggins in Wakarusa. He preceded her in death July 3, 2014.
Mrs. Wiggins was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking and liked to enter her baked goods in the Elkhart County 4-H Fair open class judging. She formerly attended Zion United Church of Christ and had been attending Goshen First United Methodist Church.
Mardell is survived by her children, Denny (Colleen) Wiggins, Kathy (Garry) Anglemyer, both of Wakarusa; daughter-in-law, Nancy Keller, Mobridge, SD; grandchildren, Tonya Rohr, Nathan Wiggins, Stephanie Snyder, Barry Anglemyer, Kelly Anglemyer, Bobbi Smith, Jade Weinstein, Jamie Wiggins; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great-grandchild; and sister, Claris Cloud, Wakarusa. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Wiggins and brother, Earl Thews.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa . Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1 also at the funeral home. Pastors Ed and Brenda Fritz will officiate. Burial will be in Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Hospice and Home Care or Goshen First United Methodist Church.
