Mahlon Helmuth, 76, Piedmont, South Carolina, died at 12:43 p.m. Friday, July 28, at his home.
He was born July 11, 1941, in Nappanee, Indiana, to Henry and Lydia Ann Helmuth. His parents are deceased.
Mahlon was a bishop and pastor of the Tabernacle of Faith in Piedmont.
He was married to Mary Hollingsworth Helmuth of LaFrance.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Victor (Lisa), Cleveland, Tennessee, Marvin (Brenda) Rose Hill, Virginia, Paul (Beverly), Piedmont, and John (Brenda), Pelzer; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, John (Cora), Elmer and Lester (Esther), both of Nappanee; two sisters-in-law, Lavina, Nappanee, and Inez, Goshen, Indiana.
A memorial service will take place Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Life Church on Highway 20 in Piedmont. The family may be contacted at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Piedmont Christian Academy.
