June M. Stouder, 90, Nappanee, passed away at 9:32 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at North Wood Village, Mishawaka, where she had resided for a year.
June was born June 21, 1927, in Nappanee, to Edward and Katie (Yertie) Tobias. She was a 1945 graduate of Nappanee High School and a lifetime area resident.
On Sept. 25, 1946, she married Kenton "Barney" Stouder. He preceded her in death Aug. 26, 2012.
June worked for Nappanee Wood Products and Holiday Rambler. She was a longtime member of Nappanee United Methodist Church and the Women's Circle and a longtime volunteer in the nursery and the thrift shop of the Methodist Church.
June was a member of the Nappanee Legion Auxiliary and the Nappanee Eastern Star (Warsaw). She enjoyed cooking and playing euchre.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Heckaman and Lee Ann Brown; grandchildren, Nathan Brown, Barney Brown, Derick Heckaman and Danya Pippen; great-grandchildren, Cody Pippen, Erick Heckaman, Amanda Heckaman, Peyton Brown and Colten Brown; brothers, Jack, Levi and John Tobias; and a sister, Pat Yoder.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons-in-law, Denny Heckaman and Larry Brown; granddaughter, Starli Brown; brothers, Chalmer, Charles, Bobby and Ralph Tobias; and sisters, Irene Moyer and Ruby Maust.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 30, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, where funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1. The Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.
Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Nappanee Legion Auxiliary.
