June Louise (Baker) Auer, 96, Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, March 1, at her home.
She was born Sept. 3, 1920, in North Webster, to Harold and Helen (Browne) Baker. She was a 1938 graduate of North Webster High School.
On Dec. 30, 1940, she married Nelson Auer. He passed away in 2008.
June owned and operated a beauty shop in North Webster before she and Nelson moved to Syracuse. Over the years she was a member of Mother's Club, Wednesday Afternoon Club, Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer and longtime member of Maxwelton Golf Club. For more than 25 years, she wintered in Lake Placid, Florida, enjoying golf and warm breezes.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice (son-in-law, Dave) Wright; sister-in-law, Helen Baker; two nieces; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers Richard and Gary Baker.
A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
