Joan B. Gannon, 78, Middlebury, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:04 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at her daughter's residence in Plymouth.
She was born May 16, 1939, in Goshen, to Wesley and Marie (Nusbaum) Breniser.
On Feb. 23, 1963, in Goshen, she married Thomas J. Gannon, who died Jan. 9, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Jackie (Albert Hoeckelberg) Gannon, Plymouth, and Patty (Rod) Stump, Nappanee; two sons, Mark (Tracie) Gannon and David (Kris) Gannon, both of Middlebury; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two expected great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean (Edna) Breniser, Middlebury.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Sheila Gannon.
Joan was a registered nurse for 54 years and was still licensed and performing home health care through this year. She enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch and sewing and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bristol.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. There will also be visitation from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m., all at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bristol. Services will be conducted by Father Robert Van Kempen.
Burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury.
