James M. Ramer, 86, Foraker, died at 12:36 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his residence.
He was born March 20, 1931 in Goshen to William and Mary (Weaver) Ramer. On Sept. 6, 1953, he married Margaret (Martin) Ramer.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ramer, Foraker, five children, Beverly (William) Stauffer, New Paris, Velma (Irvin) Martin, Nappanee, Galen (Cheryl) Ramer, Goshen, Carol Jean (Dana) Shirk, Cass City, Michigan, Sheila (Richard) Zimmerman, Goshen, 28 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bernard Ramer, and two brothers, John and Jason Ramer.
James was a farmer and volunteered for 50 years with the Foraker Fire Department. He worked 49 years in ministry. He was a member of the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church
Family and friends may call Monday, June 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, June 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., all at Harrison Christian School, 64784 C.R. 11, Goshen. A family prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 7 at Harrison Christian School with a funeral service following at 10 a.m. at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Home ministry will officiate. Burial will take place in Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery.
