Jacob K. Ramer, age 55, 67071 C.R. 7, Wakarusa, died at 3:04 p.m. Monday, April 17, in the emergency room of Elkhart General Hospital after suffering a heart attack at home.
He was born June 9, 1961, in Wakarusa, to Enos Sr. and Rebecca (Kulp) Ramer.
On Sept. 25, 1986, he married Kathleen Martin. He lived his lifetime in this area. He was a dairy farmer and a member of Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church.
Mr. Ramer is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ramer; sons, Caleb (Kathleen) Ramer, Goshen, and Josiah (Kathleen) Ramer, Nappanee; daughters, Berniece (Marlin) Shirk and Malinda (Cristy) Weaver, both of Goshen, Rosanna and Amanda Ramer, both at home; grandchildren, Brenda and Burnell Shirk, Jenna, Natalie Ramer, Kayla Ramer and Cameron Weaver; brothers, Aaron (Lois) Ramer, Rochester, Isaac (Alta) Ramer and Enos Jr. (Catherine) Ramer, both of Goshen; and sisters, Hettie Imhoff, Goshen, Elsie Ramer, Wakarusa, Barbara (Jonas) Frey, Rochester, and Rhoda (Glenn) Martin, Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Heber Imhoff.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, and 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, at the family residence, 67071 C.R. 7, Wakarusa.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church. The home ministers of the church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery.
