Garry D. Croy, 72, of Nappanee, died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Goshen Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 12, 1945, in Goshen, to Merl and Phyllis (Stump) Croy.
Garry was a 1963 graduate of Nappanee High School and lived his lifetime in Nappanee and Elkhart. On Dec. 20, 1980 he married Mary Pippenger. He retired from CTS in 2010. Garry enjoyed music and his dogs. He was an avid Notre Dame and NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Dana Croy, Nappanee, Rene (Doug) Gibson, Goshen, Teresa K. (Jeff) Kirkdorffer, Nappanee, and Randy (Brenda) Miller, Nappanee; grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Gibson, Nikki (Dennis) Crebbs, Andrew Croy, Hannah Miller, Madeline Miller, Kristin (Dillon) Whitacre, Whitney (Jason) Beer, Kaitlin (Ben) Gilbert; four great-grandchildren; father, Merl Croy, Nappanee; brothers, Randy (Bonnie) Croy, Gravelton, Lynn Croy, Nappanee; and sister-in-law, Kim Croy, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Croy, and a brother, Roger Croy.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice or American Cancer Society.
