SYRACUSE Garin K. "Kirk" Voorheis, 46, Syracuse, passed away at 4:12 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1971 in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Gary and Ruth Ann (Smeester) Voorheis.
He graduated in 1989 from Wawasee High School, Syracuse and attended I.T.T. in Fort Wayne. He was married on Sept. 25, 2013 in Syracuse to Kelly A. Pollock, who survives. He lived most of his life in the Syracuse area. He worked for Bill's Automotive for several years, Roger's Electro-matics, and Bud's Body Shop, all in Syracuse.
He was a member of Oak Grove Community Church in Warsaw.
He is survived by wife, Kelly Voorheis, Syracuse; a brother, Michael Ray (Ashley) Voorheis, Fort Wayne; a step-sister, Amanda Workman-Bender, Elkhart; two step-brothers, Scott (Nannette Swaidner, Pierceton, and Kirk (Linda) Swaidner, Winona Lake; father, Gary Voorheis, Wheeling, West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
There will be no public services held. A celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
