Ezra J. Gingerich, 93, Shipshewana, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 28, 1924, in LaGrange County, to Jacob J. and Annie (Schrock) Gingerich.
On Nov. 7, 1946, he married Ruby Viola Slabach. She passed away Aug. 14, 1950.
On Feb. 12, 1953, he married Mary Ellen Miller. She died July 2, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Norma (Perry) Lambright, Shipshewana, and Marlene (Wilbur) Mast, Topeka; two sons, Wilford Dean (Laura) Gingerich, Middlebury and Marvin (Vera) Gingerich, Shipshewana; 18 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Schrock, Elizabeth (Leroy) Miller and Ella Schrock, all of Shipshewana; four sisters-in-law, Edna (Vernon) Schmucker and Anna Belle (Joni) Mast, both of Goshen, Orpha Miller and Louella Cross, both of Topeka; and two brothers-in-law, Floyd Slabach and Joe Devon Slabach.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; a grandson, Aaron Lambright; three sisters, Fannie Fry, Ida Miller and Mandy Jones; and two brothers, Mose and Ura Gingerich.
Ezra was a farmer and had worked at the Shipshewana Flea Market for a number of years. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Thursday, April 6, and all day Friday, April 7, at the family residence, 4865 W. 300 North, Shipshewana.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Alton Bontrager residence, 2780 N. 500 West, Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Bishop Jacob Jones and the home ministers.
Burial will be at East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Arrangements are with Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury.
