Evelyn K. Lichti, 95, passed away peacefully at Village Springs Nursing Home, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, June 14.
She was born Jan. 30, 1922, to Peter and Alma Stutzman in Milford, Nebraska. She moved to Hot Springs Village 21 years ago from Lakewood, California, where she had lived for more than 50 years. She worked for Sears for more than 30 years.
Evelyn married Floyd Lichti, July 7, 1940. Floyd passed away in February 1989 after 49 years of marriage.
Others who preceded her in death were her parents, Peter and Alma Stutzman and sister, Ruth Schrock.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Piper (Larry), Hot Springs Village, and son, Timothy Lichti (Carolyn), Goshen, Indiana. She is also survived by grandsons, David Piper, Duane Piper, Jason Lichti and Nathan Lichti, as well as eight great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all her family.
Evelyn and Floyd were leaders in the Mennonite Church in Los Angeles and Downey, California, hosting many missionaries and church workers in their home. She was known for her beautiful smile and the warm hugs she had for everyone she met.
A celebration of her life took place at Christ of the Hills Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village, Friday June 23.
The family will greet friends and family during a visitation in Goshen, Indiana, at College Mennonite Church Koinonia Rooms, Saturday, July 29, from 3 to 5 p.m.
