Evelyn Joan Hostetler, 81, Shipshewana, died Wednesday, June 21, at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange.
Mrs. Hostetler was born March 2, 1936, in Shipshewana, to Evan and Clara (Speicher) Lambright.
Living her lifetime in LaGrange County, Evelyn was a homemaker and helped her husband on their family farm.
She was a member of Shore Church in Shipshewana where she had taught Sunday school and Bible school, was involved with the women sewing and the food and hostess committees, music and as a youth sponsor.
On Aug. 7, 1955, in Shipshewana, she married Donald Jay Hostetler, who survives in Shipshewana.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Ron Bontreger and LouAnn and Rick Sherck, all of LaGrange; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Elizabeth Hostetler, Wolcottville, and Michael and Julie Hostetler, Shipshewana; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Paul Miller and Doris and Ivan Birky, all of Shipshewana, and Rachel and Lee Troyer, Goshen.
Preceding Mrs. Hostetler in death were her parents, and a sister, Lois Hooley.
Burial will take place Sunday, June 25, at 4 p.m. at Shore Cemetery in Shipshewana.
A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at Shore Church, 7235 W. 100 North, Shipshewana, with the Rev. Carl Horner officiating.
Visitation will take place at the church Saturday, June 24, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 30 minutes prior to the graveside service.
