Elvira Hershberger, 86, Goshen, died on Sunday Dec. 11, 2016, at Courtyard in Goshen.
She was born March 12, 1930, in Schreiber, Ontario, Canada, to Cornelius and Pauline (Wuerfel) Warkentin. In her early years she lived in Laird, Saskatchewan, and Kitchener, Ontario, moving to Goshen in 1959.
Elvira married Paul Hershberger on Oct. 19, 1962, in Kitchener.
She was a former member of the Elkhart Art League and the St. Joe Valley Watercolor Society. Her work appeared in Elkhart County bank calendars, at the Old Bag Factory and in a booth at Bonneyville Mill's annual fall festivals.
Surviving with her husband are a son, John of Union, Michigan; and three brothers, Otto of Fort Wayne, David Of Orleans, Ontario, and Rudy of Port Elgin, Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Henry, of Lion's Head, Ontario.
Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the College Mennonite Church in Goshen.
A private memorial service will take place that evening.
