Ella H. Wingard, 81, of Topeka, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 26, 1935, in LaGrange County to Henry and Lydian (Troyer) Frye.
On May 12, 1955, in LaGrange County she married Elmer J. Wingard. He survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are four daughters, Erma (Leonard) Frey of Topeka, Ruby (Danny) Troyer of Shipshewana, Ruth (Harlan) Miller of Nappanee and Lora (John) Beachey of Topeka; a daughter-in-law, Velda Wingard of Topeka; eight sons, Sam Wingard of LaGrange, Dave (Velda) Wingard, Elmer (Eva) Wingard Jr., Danny (Loretta) Wingard all of Shipshewana, Cletus (Jenean) Wingard, Ray (Erma) Wingard, Steven (Velda) Wingard and Kenny (Carol) Wingard all of Topeka; 62 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Noah (Mary) Frye of Middlebury and Sam Frye of Pensacola, Florida; and a sister, Edna (Freeman S.) Miller of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Wingard; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Elvie Frye, Joas Frye and Calvin Frye; three sisters, Katy Yoder, Susan Yoder and Lovina Frye.
Ella was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday May 27, and all day Sunday, May 28, at the Ray Wingard residence, 2285 S. 600 West, Topeka. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 29, at the DeWayne Lehman residence, 2735 S. 600 West, Topeka. Services will be conducted by Bishop Chris Lambright and the home ministers.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange.
