Eldon R. Zimmerle, 86, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
He was born Jan. 13, 1931 in Lakeville, to Wilford and Arleda (Hepler) Zimmerle.
He married Carol J. (Husband) Zimmerle June 28, 1952.
Surviving are his wife, Carol, Goshen; daughters, Laurel S. (Chris) Bove, Goshen, Noreen K. (John) Mackiewicz, Niles, Michigan, Anita L. (Scott) McAfoos, Elkhart; son, Kirk R. (Laura) Zimmerle, Goshen; brothers, Dale (Winifred) Zimmerle, Decatur, Michigan, and Darrell (Gerrie) Zimmerle, Berrien Center, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters, Linda and Betty; and brothers, Carl, Larry and Earl.
Eldon was a 1949 graduate of Lakeville High School. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the People's Bible Church and retired from Burger Dairy, New Paris.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 27, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service Tuesday, March 28, at the People's Bible Church, 68074 U.S. 33, Goshen. The Rev. John Randolph and Rev. Lewis Showers will officiate.
Burial will follow at Baintertown Cemetery.
