Donna L. Yoder, 73, died at 10 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Donna was born March 10, 1944, at the Indiana Home for the Deaf in Brookston. She was born to Donald H. and Doshia E. (Miller) Cassel.
She grew up in Goshen, and graduated from Concord High School in 1962. On Feb. 16, 1963, she married Dale E. Yoder at Eighth Street Mennonite Church in Goshen.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dale; their three sons, Mark A. (Joann) of Shipshewana, Martin D. (Gwynn) of Howe, and Matthew C. (Cindy) of Middlebury; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Penny LaTour and Rose (Clifford) Boyer, both of Goshen; and a brother, the Rev. Alan (Vickie) Cassel of Jasonville. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna worked for many years at Smucker Drugs in Middlebury, and retired after 20 years at First State Bank of Middlebury. Donna enjoyed many things, especially traveling, family fishing trips up north, wintering in Floral City, Florida, Chicago White Sox baseball, but most of all her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kio and the many loving and caring staff members at Goshen Center for Cancer Care, and Goshen Hospice. They would also like to thank friends Mike and Pam Garber for the many, many hours they spent sitting with Donna throughout her chemo treatments.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Scott United Methodist Church, 7020 N. 675 West, Shipshewana. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. at the church. Pastor Tammy Lugar will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Donna requested that memorial contributions be made to Scott United Methodist Church Food Pantry or the charity of the donor's choice.
Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her arrangements.
