David L. Troyer, 75, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Elkhart General Hospital.
David was born March 24, 1942, in Arthur, Illinois, to Lewis and Mary (Mast) Troyer. He moved with his family to LaGrange County in 1948, and spent most of his life in the LaGrange area.
David is survived by his wife, Kay A. Troyer, Elkhart; daughter, Mary (Jerry) Winfrey, LaGrange; stepdaughter, Cindy Pendergrass, Mishawaka; stepsons, Robert (Linda) Buck, Williamson (Marie) Pendergrass, and Clayton Pendergrass, all of Mishawaka; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ada Poynter, Arthur, Illinois, Alta Hochstetler, Shipshewana, Elnora Miller, Goshen, Sarah Ann (Leroy) Yoder, Carbondale, Illinois, Esther Wingard, Shipshewana; and a brother, Erwin (Emma) Troyer, LaGrange.
David was preceded in death by his parents; a stepdaughter, June Marie Pendergrass; a sister, Susan Miller Galvin; and five brothers-in-law, Enos Miller, Clinton Poynter, Joe Miller, Henry Hochstetler and Mahlon Wingard.
David proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW in Osceola and the American Legion in Goshen. David loved listening to country music. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church. David was also a mechanic and a truck driver.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, April 17, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
