Darrell Grisamer, 83, of Syracuse, passed away July 7, 2017, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Sturgis, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army 182nd "Rakasan" Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. On July 3, 1976, he married Shirley Grisamer, who preceded him in death in 2004.
He was a lifelong area resident. He retired as a NIPSCO lineman. He was a member of North Webster Church of God.
He is survived by his children, Daretta Engh of Greenfield; Drenna (Jerry) Dean, of Hawaii; Daralea (Kraig) Kailey, of Kokomo; Darren Grisamer, of Avon; Tina (Robert) Kocher, of Syracuse; Teresa (Dennis) Linville, of Mishawaka; and Tony Searfoss, of Florida. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his companion, Delores Neff, of Wakarusa.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at Eastlund Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at the Syracuse cemetery with military honors.
