Dale Edward Weldy, 89, Elkhart, died 1:40 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 23, 1927 in Elkhart to Harvey and Laura (Culp) Weldy. He married AnnaBelle (Roose) Weldy on November 25, 1950 in Wakarusa.
He is survived by his wife, AnnaBelle Weldy, Elkhart, sons, Donald (Monica) Weldy, Elkhart, Joseph (Linda) Weldy, Mishawaka, a daughter, Sally (Tim) Brubaker, Goshen, 8 grandchildren, Shawn Weldy, Cindy (Tom) Lamb, Denise (Jeremy) Rush, Jennifer Weldy, Michele Weldy, Phillip Weldy, Laura Brubaker, Hannah Brubaker, 6 great-grandchildren, Dillion, Garrett, Kaitlin, Wesley, Tanner, and Nathan, sisters, Mary Ellen (Lester) Derksen, Newton, Kansas, and Vera Faye Weldy, Wakarusa. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cleo Lehman.
Dale was a veteran from the Korean Conflict. He was a dairy farmer and also worked at the Wakarusa/Richmond Feed Mill. He was a member of the Holstein Association for 50 years and a member of the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 with a service following at 11 a.m. all at Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren, 65575 CR 11, Goshen. Pastor David Stackhouse and Pastor Mark Bendes will officiate. Burial will take place in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren or Center for Hospice Care or Heifer International.
