Beverly "Joan" Neer, 81, died Tuesday, March 21, at South Bend Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 24, 1935, in Milford, to Forest and Mary (Garrison) Ringler.
On Aug. 10, 1957, she married Donald E. Neer at Syracuse Church of God.
He survives along with three daughters, Angie (Stuart) Wilson, Grand Haven, Michigan, Alicia Long, Bremen, and Amber (Brad) Osswald, Arcadia; two sons, Dana (Joni) Neer, Culver, and Darren Neer, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Stewart, Deland, Florida, and Wanda Neibert, South Carolina.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Personette.
A 1957 graduate of Moody Bible College, Chicago, Joan was active at Wawasee Heights Baptist Church and currently at Nappanee Missionary Church, serving in many different areas.
Joan was a part owner, along with her husband Don, of Neer's Powerwash, New Paris. She also worked at New Paris Elementary School, where she retired as head cook. She enjoyed Bible Study Fellowship in Goshen, entertaining, cooking, traveling and caring for her grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the 6 p.m. funeral service at Nappanee Missionary Church. The Rev. Dave Engbrecht and her son, Dana Neer, will officiate. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen, following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Hoosier Burn Camp or Riley Hospital for Children.
