William Gard, 78, Ligonier, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, March 11, at Avalon Village, Ligonier.
He was born April 7, 1939, in Noble County, to Robert H. and Hazel (Wilson) Gard.
He married Barbara K. (Scearce) Gard in March 1964. She July 13, 2010.
Surviving are sons, William "Bill" Gard Jr. and Skyliar Gard, both of Goshen, Stanley Gard, Idaville; and daughters, Teresa (Sam) Profitt, Monticello, Michigan, Dana (Phil) LaBar and Judy Gard, both of Goshen; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Barbara; granddaughter; brothers, Larry and Earl Gard; stepmother, Lavetta Gard; and father.
William was a veteran who served from 1956-1958. He worked at Goshen Rubber as a press operator.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.
Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.
