Weldon L. Reynolds

"Ren" Weldon L. Reynolds, 85, formerly of Wakarusa, died Tuesday, April 9, at his residence in Middlebury.
He was born July 29, 1933, in Wakarusa, to Otis and Mary (Kehr) Reynolds.
Ren was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Janice (Kauffman) Baumgartner; his parents; sisters, Mary Ellen Blosser, Treva Wise, Deloris Jones and Jeanette Mosier; brothers, Virgil, Dale and Claude; and grandson, Benjamin Snook.
Surviving family members are June Wild, Pat Havens, David Baumgartner, Rick (Julie) Baumgartner, Doug Baumgartner and Greg (Julie) Baumgartner; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Ren graduated Wakarusa High School prior to enlisting in the Army where he served from Nov. 10, 1953, to Oct. 5, 1955. He was honorably discharged as a specialist second class.
He was service manager for K&K Truck Sales, Goshen, for many years prior to starting his own truck repair business, Ren's Service, in Millersburg. After selling his repair business, Ren owned and operated several home-based businesses with his wife, Jan, selling Slick 50, Barley Green and wellness-related supplements.
Ren enjoyed living on the lake, telling jokes, fishing, ice skating, plowing snow with his old Ford tractor and eating out with friends and family. He knew most people by first name and never knew a stranger.
He was a member of Middlebury American Legion Post 210, the Middlebury Optimist Club and Middlebury Church of the Brethren.
A lakeside memorial service will take place at Hunter Lake on a yet-to-be-determined date.
Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 61, Middlebury, IN 46540.
