Waneta S. (Tomlonson) Bundy, 80, Columbia City, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at her home.
Born July 26, 1937, in Elkhart, she was the daughter of Guy E. Tomlonson and Ethel S. (Sherck) Tomlonson Rupel.
She graduated from Goshen High School in 1956 and went on to graduate with her bachelor's from Manchester College in 1960, and received her master's degree from St. Francis College in 1974.
On Aug. 23, 1959, she married Francis E. Bundy in Goshen.
Waneta had been an elementary school teacher at Mary Raber School for 30 years and retired in 1997.
Survivors include her husband, Francis Bundy; daughters, Laura (Dan) Weigold, Columbia City, Susan Stetzel, Columbia City; brothers, James (Mary) Tomlonson, Warrensburg, Missouri, and John Tomlonson, Goshen; sisters, Martha (Ken) Kuiper, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Nancy (Wayne) Yoder, Goshen; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Tomlonson; mother, Ethel Rupel; stepfather, Paul Rupel; sisters-in-law, Veva Tomlonson and Marceta Bubb.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with The Rev. Fred Stayton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given in her memory to Columbia City United Methodist Church or Manchester University. Her family would like to thank the great staff at Heartland Hospice.
