Virgil's Story

Virgil Elwood Lee, 90, Bristol, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elkhart.
He was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Woodburn, to Philip S. and Elsie E. (Ash) Lee.
On Jan. 4, 1948, in Wisconsin, he married Barbara Rose Lewallen, who died Aug. 11, 1992.
Surviving are a daughter, Pam (Tom) Webster, Indianapolis; son, Mike (Becky) Lee, Middlebury; five grandchildren, Nathan (Yue) Webster, Amanda Webster, Monica (Tyler) Kingdon, Erica (Alex) Brenneman and David (Jen) Lee; sister, Deloris Torok, Lexington, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; daughter, Dixie Brown; son, David Jay Lee; and four brothers, Kenneth, Owen, Cletus and Dale Lee.
Virgil was farmer and a self-employed painter, mainly in the RV industry. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday Jan. 5 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Friday, all at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastors Ron and Char Roth and Pastor Joseph Raber.
Burial will be at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be given to Bristol Fire Department.
