Pastor Venus J. Arnold, 90, Goshen, died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Stanton, Michigan, to Venus L. and Jenny L. (Culver) Arnold.
He married Arlene Emma (Hewitt) Arnold June 12, 1948 in Elkton, Michigan. Surviving are his wife, Arlene Arnold, Goshen; children, Terry (Treasa) Arnold, Custer, South Dakota, Joyce M. (Dennis) Leinbach, Uniondale, Daniel (Rhonda) Arnold, Union, Michigan; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Arnold, Trufant, Michigan; brother-in-law, Rex Sutherland, Sarasota, Florida; sister-in-law, Gaye Arnold, North Carolina, Esther Laubach, Greenville, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings, Kenneth Arnold, Keitha Arnold, Kathleen Howe, Edward Arnold, Bonnie Sutherland, Ardith Lee and Betty Jane Arnold.
Pastor Arnold served as a minister in the Missionary Church for over 50 years, most recently retiring as an associate pastor at New Paris Missionary Church, where he was a member. He loved woodworking, hunting and golfing.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at New Paris Missionary Church, 67621 Ind. 15, New Paris. Pastor David Hackney and Pastor Dennis Leinbach will officiate.
Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery.
