Thomas W. Berkey, 61, died Saturday morning, Feb. 17, at his home. He had been diagnosed with cancer in 2016.
He was born Sept. 6, 1956, in Goshen, to Glen D. and AnnaBelle (Juday) Berkey.
Survivors include six children, Andrew Berkey, Elkhart, Michael (James) Berkey Chapin, Mason City, Iowa, Angela Wigent, Elkhart, Daniel Berkey, Anderson, Heather (Patrick) McLain, Lawton, Michigan and Nicole (Dwane) Davis, New Paris; eight grandchildren; six siblings, Belva Belcher, Ralph Berkey and Ruby (Dewayne) Miller, all of Goshen, Deloris "Dede" (Gilbert) Beemer, North Port, Florida, Vada (Richard) Berkey, Middlebury, and Jeff (Betty) Berkey, New Paris; and half sisters, Laverle (Glen) Larmier, Goshen and Sharon (Jerry) Angel, Elkhart.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, MaryKatherine Bartholomew.
Tom attended Goshen High School and owned and operated Berkey's Trash Hauling. He also worked for Thompson's Towing, Miller Sewer Cleaning and Dick's Auto Parts.
He enjoyed spending time with family, restoring old cars, collecting model ships and anything related to Harley-Davidson.
Friends may call Thurs., Feb. 22, from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will follow at Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen.
