The Rev. Robin's Story
The Rev. Robin Kent La Rue, 75, received his eternal reward Sunday, Nov. 12, surrounded by his family, caregivers and friends.
Born in Goshen, Indiana, he was the son of the late Deane and Elsa La Rue.
Robin loved his Savior, Jesus, his wife, Rosemary, who preceded him in death, and his children.
Robin pastored multiple Mennonite, CM&A and Church of the Brethren congregations in Indiana and Minnesota for 40 years before he became a chaplain for Heartland Hospice in 2004 until his retirement in 2013.
Surviving are children, Tonya of Elkhart, Rochelle, Christine (Michael) Mortensen of Fort Wayne, and Shawn (Emily) La Rue of Auburn; brother, Jan (Sandy) La Rue; sister and nephew, Penny and Ryan Pequignot; Joe Moore, and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica; brother, Terry; and grandson, Jonathan Mortensen.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 2929 E. Paulding Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for final expenses and ministry.
