Susan McDougall Kennedy, 87, died Oct. 23, in Plainfield, Illinois.
A former Goshen, Indiana, resident, she was a daughter of Herbert A. (Hooks) and Esther Engman McDougall, born Nov. 22, 1929.
A 1947 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Kennedy was in Goshen in early September to celebrate her 70th class reunion at the annual GHS alumni picnic. She was also a graduate of Monmouth College, Monmouth, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was a school teacher in Chicago for a number of years.
In 1953, she married Joseph Kennedy in Chicago. They were married 64 years.
Surviving are her husband, four children, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mark (Ellin) Loveless, Yucca Valley, California.
She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Mrs. Donald (Hari) Whitmer, Goshen.
A memorial mass took place Oct. 26 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Joliet, with a life celebration at Bolingbrook Golf Club, Bolingbrook.
