Sheila Kay McCauley
She was a director on the board of ADEC, where she volunteered her time supporting the special needs community. She was a huge advocate and made many positive changes within the organization. Special Olympics was also her passion. It was an absolute joy for her to dedicate her time and efforts.
For many years, Sheila owned McCauley's Family Fashion in Angola, Mishawaka, Middlebury and Goshen. She then became an entrepreneur and designed, manufactured and distributed a unique cosmetic bag. Sheila was in marketing as a sales representative for News Printing Company (The Goshen News), before retiring to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Sheila married Doyle Ray McCauley Oct. 14, 1967. They raised three amazing sons, David, Danny and Doyle, in Middlebury.
Sheila McCauley was an inspiration to everyone that she knew and met. She had a passion for the outdoors and tending to her flower garden. She loved being on the river exploring nature.
Doyle and Sheila were avid RV travelers. For several winters they traveled the country visiting family and friends.
Her grandchildren Jessica (16) and Carson (16) were her life. She adored them and would do absolutely anything for them. Let's just say the grandkids had Sheila wrapped around their fingers. When Jessica was born, Sheila gave Jessica the nickname, Precious, and called her that for the rest of her life. Jessica loved riding with her Nana and Papa in the car. Because Nana would always sit with Jessica and stroke her hair for times of special attention. Nana also enjoyed playing mermaid Barbie dolls with Jessica. Carson remembers the wrestling matches he and his Nana had. Nana would always tell Carson he had a star above his head. She was the master back scratcher. Her grandchildren have wonderful memories of her and she will be missed dearly.
Sheila is predeceased by her parents, Merle and Erma Fluke, and her brother, Rick Fluke.
She is survived by her husband, Doyle Ray McCauley; brother, Mike (Chris) Fluke; her three children, David (Kim) Campbell, Danny Campbell and Doyle Lee (Jennifer) McCauley; and her two grandchildren, Jessica and Carson.
