Shari P. Klippenstein, 60, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, at Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen, where she had recently been admitted. She battled with ovarian cancer for many years.
She was born June 12, 1957, in Taegu, South Korea, and was adopted by Donald L. and Elizabeth (Sawatzky) Klippenstein.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, Goshen; and two brothers, Dr. Donald (Linda) Klippenstein, Lutz, Florida, and Michael (Robin) Klippenstein, Edina, Minnesota.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Klippenstein.
Shari attended Winona State University, Minnesota, and worked in student housing, as assistant director, at Idaho State University. She also earned a master's degree. She also worked in Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota and Maine specializing in student support.
She attended Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen. She played the violin in high school and college and continued her love of music, learning to play the guitar and write music.
According to her wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
A memorial service will be conducted Sat., Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, 602 S. 8th Street, Goshen. Pastors Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau and Julia Gingrich will officiate.
Burial will take place in Minnesota at Lakewood Cemetery, at later date.
