Sandra Lynn Gerth Sandra Lynn Gerth, 82, Rockford, Illinois, formerly of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at River Bluff Nursing Home, Rockford.
Sandra was born April 27, 1936, the daughter of the late Donald and Eleanor (Everson) Coahran.
She is survived by three children, Doug (Felicia) Hessong, Machesney Park, Jim Hessong, Rockford, and Don Hessong; five grandchildren, Derek (Anna) Hessong, Norfolk, Virginia, Megan Hessong, Machesney Park, Dwayne (Kayla) Hessong, Norfolk, Virginia, Hope (Max) Kinnemann and Paige Hessong, both of Rockford; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three sisters, Donna Coahran Long Smith, New Paris, Indiana, Nancy (Dennis) Coahran Geil Avery, Bremen, Indiana, and Barb (Don) Bice, Milford, Indiana.
She is predeceased by her sister, Karen Boss; husband, Norm Gerth; and stepmother, Thelma Coahran.
Sandy "Ma" was a bright and loving spirit who enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and spending time with those she loved, whether they were near or far away. A devoted Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, she enjoyed a good game and had a soft spot for Disney movies. She made everyone feel loved and cared for, even if it meant sacrificing herself. Sandy will be remembered and missed by all those whose life she touched.
Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the noon funeral service in honor of Sandy, Friday, July 20, at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 461 W. 900 North, Milford, IN 46542.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
