Rose's Story

Rose A. Woods, 90, Goshen, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, at her home.
She was born June 13, 1927, in Goshen, to Albert and Rose (Haines) Grise.
She married Harry "Jerry" D. Woods June 25, 1949, in Goshen. He died Aug. 11, 2001.
Surviving are a son, Daniel (Rebecca) Woods, Niles, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Anita Woods, Elkhart; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Julie) Grise, Florida.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; son, John; and sisters, Katherine Gardner and Phyllis Grise.
Rose was a homemaker and an administrative assistant at the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She loved to bowl, golf and garden.
A funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 417 S. Main St., Goshen. Father Royce Gregerson will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
