Robert T. Jefferson, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 14, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Robert T. and Henrietta (Gerstle) Jefferson.
On Aug. 12, 1950, he married Thelma A. Koepfle in St. Bernard, Ohio. She died Aug. 15, 1989.
He later married Lucy (Clark) Weddington Sept. 22, 1990, in Goshen. She survives along with two daughters, Diane M. (Timothy) Martin, Osceola, and Linda A. (Paul) Wiczynski, Columbus; son, Alan J. (Anne) Jefferson, Round Rock, Texas; two stepchildren, Tracy L. (Brian) Kelm and Amanda K. (Kevin) Quarandillo, both of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann (Donald) Saltsgaver, Clarksville; sisters-in-law, Patricia Clark, Shelburn, and Geraldine Jefferson, Louisville, Kentucky; and brothers-in-law, James Clark, Brownsburg, and Ted Clark, Chandler.
Robert was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and served in the United States Army from 1951-1953. He was a research chemist.
A 10 a.m. funeral mass will take place Tues., Oct. 17, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen.
Burial will be Wednesday at St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Bernard, Ohio. Memorial gifts may be directed to the church.
