Robert E. Hartman, 87, formerly of Milford, died 3:34 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
He was born July 5, 1929, in Wakarusa, to Clarence and Estella (Leatherman) Hartman.
He first married Shirley (Rogers) Hartman and she passed away. On Feb. 27, 1960, Robert married Clara Belle (Welty) Hartman in Goshen.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Belle Hartman, Warsaw; three sons, Dan (Cindy) Hartman, Montana, Brian (Miriam) Hartman, Wakarusa, and Keith Hartman, Nappanee; three sisters, Marjorie "Marge" Fisher, Goshen, Violet (Bernard) Weldy, Nappanee, and Carol Bontrager, Pennsylvania; a brother, Jerry (Diane) Hartman, Michigan; grandchildren, Kelly Hartman, Montana, and Cassie (Kevin) Ball, Pennsylvania.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Shirley Hartman; a son, Eddie Hartman; and a brother.
Robert was a factory worker for Mutschler. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Robert loved sports, especially baseball and the Cubs, watching TV, and traveling. He was a member of Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Tuesday, June 6, at Nappanee Church of the Brethren, 301 Mack Dr., Nappanee. The Rev. Byrl Shaver will officiate.
Burial will take place in New Paris Cemetery.
