Richard C. Ogle, 89, Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Elkhart and Goshen, Indiana, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte.
He was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Elkhart County, Indiana, to Orley and Katie (Elliot) Ogle.
On June 1, 1972, in Union, Michigan, Richard married Ola Fay (Allison) Ogle. She died June 27, 2013.
Surviving are a daughter, Lucinda (Denise Hall) Ogle, Port Charlotte; son, Terry Allen Ogle, Elkhart; stepson, Donny (Janie) Russell, Sturgis, Michigan; stepdaughters, Lynn (Charles) Ward, Elkhart, Beth Russell (Jim) Lambert,Texas; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sister, Kathryn Ulery, Goshen.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Ola; siblings, Charles Ogle, Martha Penrose and Leora Overholser; and great-granddaughter, Shelby Russell.
Richard was a factory worker and a member of the First Brethren Church, Goshen.
He served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 836, DAV, Elkhart, and the VFW, Goshen.
He had resided in Florida his last four years with his daughter.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. with a 2 p.m. service following, Saturday, March 3, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
