Richard Dick E. Powers Richard E. "Dick" Powers, 86, Goshen, passed away Feb. 11, at Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen.
He was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Pekin, Illinois, to Harold and Louise (Saal) Powers.
On June 20, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, he married Barbara J. Short. She survives along with two sisters, Mary Ellen (Ron) Worth, Grand Junction, Colorado, and Carol (Paul) Millermon, Paroma, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Powers.
Richard graduated from Treimout High School in Illinois and graduated from Grace College and Seminary.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1953-1955., receiving an honorable discharge.
He was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Elkhart. Dick was a school teacher and taught school at West Noble and Elkhart Baptist Christian School. He was also employed by the city of Elkhart from 1979-2006.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Feb. 14, at Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home, Elkhart. Pastor Kyle Grant from Grace Bible Church will preside.
Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens, Pekin, Illinois, Friday, Feb. 15, at noon CST.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Grace Bible Church.

So sorry to hear about Dicks passing I have been living in Charlotte NC and don’t have your phone number or address Dick is with God now and waiting for you. I miss you Barb
