Ray J. Miller, 91, of LaGrange, died at 9:30 am, on Thursday, November 16, at his residence. He was born on August 24, 1926, in LaGrange County, to Joni P. and Gertie (Schrock) Miller. On December 16, 1948 in LaGrange County he married Ida Lehman; she died January 9, 2012. Surviving are two daughters, Fern (Tony) Miller of Middlebury, Mary (Earl) Bontrager of Shipshewana; five sons, Olen (Christine) Miller of Middlebury, Otis (Karen) Miller of Goshen, Glen (Rose) Miller of LaGrange, Albert (Carolyn) Miller of Middlebury, LaVern (Wilma) Miller of Topeka; 25 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, three sisters, Clara Schoflied of Nixa, MO, Betty Esh of Newburg, PA, Jane (Ellis) Miller of Sarasota, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers, Vernon, Walter, Levi and Lester Miller, three sisters, Barbara Nisley, Mary Hochstetler, Wilma Miller, two great-grandchildren, Michelle Miller and Mikey Ervin. He was a woodworker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Friday November 17, and all day Saturday November 18, at the family's residence, 2340 W. 350 S. LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Sunday November 19, also at the family's residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Wayne Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is handling arrangements.
