Pauline May Otto, formerly of Nappanee, passed away at Greencroft Gables, Goshen, at 5:15 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1, at the great age of 97 thank the Lord.
She was born March 24, 1920, in Midland Michigan, to John K. and Martha Miller. Pauline was a lifetime Nappanee area resident.
On Oct. 15, 1938, she married Andrew Otto at North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 2011.
Pauline graduated from Nappanee High School. She was a member of Harvest Community Church in Goshen, though most recently attended The Church at Goshen.
Pauline was a generous giver all her life, wanting to share something with everyone she met. She had always enjoyed working with children in Sunday school and other church programs.
She was an entrepreneur from early marriage by having a resale clothing shop in her home and various other jewelry items to buy and sell throughout her life until the last couple years.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Judy) Otto, Nappanee, Verna Jean Crenshaw, Texas, Judy (Cecil) Tucker, Goshen, and Steven (Lynise) Otto, Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andy Otto; parents; sisters, Geneva and Dorothy; and brothers, Howard, Charles and Don.
Family and friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service, all at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Rev. Steve Chupp will officiate.
Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery.
