Nelson Hoover, 86, of New Paris, Indiana, passed away Aug. 4, 2017 at Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen.
He was born March 17, 1931 in Syracuse, Indiana to Martin and Edith (Wogoman) Hoover.
He was employed by Reith Riley Co., and Smoker Craft. He was a lifelong area resident.
He is survived by: two daughters: Diann (Bill) Dunlap of Goshen and LuAnn (Andy) Roose of Millersburg; four sons: David (Trina) Hoover of New Paris, Phil Hoover of Syracuse, Rich (Sandi) Hoover of Middlebury and Don (Sherry) Hoover of New Paris; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Louise Wise of North Webster; and a brother, Carl Hoover of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois; two sons, Terry and Dean; two daughters-in-law, Karen and Karen.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 7, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Overpeck officiating. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery with full military honors.
