Maryetta S. Martin, 93, Nappanee, died peacefully at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Harrison Township, to Henry E. and Elizabeth M. (Schrock) Martin.
On Jan. 14, 1945, she married Elmer Martin. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 2008.
She was a member of the Old Order Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Maryetta was a lifetime area resident and a housewife.
She is survived by her children, Laura Reihl, New Holland, Pennsylvania, Samuel (Mabel) Martin, New Paris, Elizabeth Martin and Enos (Grace) Martin, both of Nappanee, Jason (Iva) Martin, Wakarusa, Lydia (David) Brubacher, Mount Forrest, Ontario, Canada, Warren Martin, Nappanee, and Andrew (Arlene) Martin, Goshen; 19 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Wilma Zimmerman, Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Martin; son-in-law, Isaac Reihl; grandchildren, Elizabeth Martin, James Martin, Russell Martin, Miriam Martin; stillborn granddaughter; great-grandchildren, Iva Dawn Leid and Austin Lee Martin; sisters, Sarah Martin and Nora Martin; and brothers, John Martin, Enos Martin and Harvey Martin.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, Sunday, Oct. 29, at the home residence, 68476 C.R. 9, Nappanee.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Old Order Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Home ministers will officiate.
Burial will be at Old Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery. A
