Mary L. Clouse, 95, of Nappanee, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart.
She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Valparaiso to Harvey and Marie (Eddy) Field. Mary was a lifetime Nappanee area resident. She was a graduate of Nappanee High School. On Sept. 27, 1944, she married Merl E. Clouse. He preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1987.
Mrs. Clouse had worked as a receptionist for Dr. James Zimmerman in Nappanee and for Dr. Robert Abel in Wakarusa. She was a member of Nappanee United Methodist Church and a former member of the Nappanee Order of Eastern Star. She loved the Chicago Cubs and went to games whenever she could.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen (Ted) Fairfield, Goshen, Rebecca (Charles) Bushong, Elkhart, Susan (Dana) Brown, Columbus, Indiana; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Eugene Clouse; sisters, Myrtle Williams and Rae Ellen Wenger; and brothers, Arthur, Les, Howard, Glen and Eugene Field.
Family and friends may call for one hour prior to the 12:30 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Dec. 28, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society.
