Marvin Max Miller, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Greenleaf Living Center, Elkhart, where he resided.
He was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Goshen, to Homer R. and Vera J. (Weister) Miller.
He married Sharlein M. Gernon in 1953. She preceded him in death in 2002.
He married Marjorie Adams in 2005. She preceded him in death in 2015.
Max was a television repairman who owned Goshen TV and Record Shop in the 1960s. Later he bought a spray-painting business and operated Miller Spray Painting until he retired. Fishing was his passion. He will be remembered by many as the "Fisherman."
He is survived by two sons, Michael H. Miller (Pam) Goshen; and Gary E. Miller, Elkhart; two daughters, Cindra L. Swinehart, Millersburg, and Pam Todd, Florida; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was active in the First Baptist Church for many years.
There will be no viewing. At his request, his body was transferred to Indiana University School of Medicine.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Church of God, C.R. 4, Elkhart. Visitation with family, service to follow; Gary E. Miller officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association.
